3DR IRIS and FrSky x8r receiver

Hello

I have an IRIS from 3DR (love it) with their supplied transmitter (FS-TH9X). I would like to swap the frsky 4dr-ii receiver for a x8r. Anyone know whether this is possible as a straight swap or many settings need to be changed.

Thanks

James

  • James,

Because the 4DR-II is used in the CPPM output mode connected to the Pixhawk, you already have 8 channels on that radio. So there is no need to switch if you need a few extra channels.  Hope this helps.

I found this out since posting but have yet to find out how to enable the aux outputs on the pixhawk to get access to the other channels. I believe the pixhawk aux out need to be powered with a ubec to power a servo but I haven't wanted to do this yet for fear of being wrong and blowing the controller. Do you know this?

      Thanks

      James
