3DR Iris Final Edition Status

Can we please use this post for all status updates updates on the Iris?

 

At a minimum We would like to be informed regularly about the following:

 

1) Current Development status of the Final Consumer Edition

2) Differences from the Development Edition

3) Accurate Shipping dates

4) Spares Availability

5) Ultimately When will it really be available for prime time.

    Still no F*ing clue when the thing will be shipped (to Europe)..


    not even a possible date (they'd postpone it anyway).

      Have you contacted help@3drobotics to get an answer?  It's my understanding that all out of the US orders have to be shipped from Tijuana due to US export limitations.

        I did ask them all the stuff and explained the situation, here's the answer. Haha they got to be kidding.

    Called 3DR again today and still no update on the status of our IRIS orders or an estimated ship date.  The 17th of February was the last date given (Today) so you'd think someone would know the status.

      Meh. Cancelled my order weeks ago. Maybe the 3 in 3DR stands for "3RD world customer service". I will be watching this debacle keenly. Whether I ever order anything from 3DR again depends largely on how they handle this...

    Hi Steve:

    Not on this post, but in all fairness I posed the questions on the PixHawk thread and Chris did respond. Why no one responds to this one dedicated to the Iris, I do not know. But in Chris' defense not much had changed. On Schedule for End of Feb 2014 Release. Check the PixHawk Thread the last few pages. Google "Pixhawk Update" and it should be at the top.

    Have you had any responses to this at all?

    I ordered my Iris almost 3 months ago and haven't heard any solid information on delivery, issues, gear substitutions or changes in plan other than endless delays.

    Don't get me wrong I don't want to complain and I'm really excited to get the Iris and I'm VERY glad that the 3dr team are making sure they send out a solid piece of kit.

    I just wish that in exchange for taking the risk of believing in 3DR and giving 3DR a couple thousand dollars for their use, that we were given some better information regarding what's going on instead of being kept in the dark like this. I haven't a clue when or if it will come or if it will even resemble or work like what I ordered last year.
