The 3DR RadioTelemetry Kit-915 Mhz works fine on my Windows 7 laptop.
But out in the field I like to use an older Windows XP laptop.
I installed the Mission Planer APM, seems to work fine.
The only problem, the plug and play for the 3DR RadioTelemetry Kit-915 Mhz doesn’t work.
So I need to download a driver.
Please has someone an idea where I could find and download the right driver ???
Thanks a lot.

Standard FTDI driver. Remember it's just a USB to serial link, thus the FTDI chip is before the radio modem. Once you understand what hardware is what (you'll keep seing the same components over and over with Arduinos) it all becomes pretty simple. For the most part, every Arduino only has serial ports (there are some like the 32u2 with USB), thus they nearly always either have a FTDI chip, or a 32u2. The drivers folder of any version of the Arduino IDE would have it, or here it is:

Just in case any one was having issues with a clone FTDI driver on Windows 8 64 Bit, the instructions here worked a treat for me:

The driver Windows 8 tried to install automatically never worked. The older version on the driver from Prolific seems to work rather than the newer one.
Hi there,
I am new AMP and have just bought a set of 915mhz 3DR Telemetry (clones) from Ebay. I have wired them into the AMP 2.6 correctly (I think) and when I plug the ground unit into my PC both lights turn a solid green.
I am however having massive trouble setting them up with AP Mission planner. I am running Windows 7 64 bit which did not pick up the driver when I inserted the USB telemetry module. (I have read that win7 should). I then found this forum and your helpful advice which seemed to have solved a similar problem for someone else. I have been onto the http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm website and selected the current driver for Win 7 64 bit. Once installed the "Other Device" in Device manager disappeared and a new com port (COM5) so it would appear to have worked right?
I go into Mission planner and select COM5 in the top right corner and 57600 Baud and click connect. Nothing seems to happen. I have gone into "Initial Setup" and the "3DR Radio" as I have also read and clicked on load settings. I get the following message: "Cannot open serial port. please make sure you have your radio connected. and the correct link selected)". (I have tried clicking restore defaults)
I simply cannot get passed this. At first I thought I had installed the wrong driver as I had initially allowed windows to look for one which it found but I do not think was correct. I uninstalled this driver before loading the one mentioned above but thought there may be some sort of corruption or crossover of the two drivers. As a result I have done a system restore on Windows to return the computer to 3 days prior to when I received the telemetry in the post. All of the drivers had been removed and I started again. Same problem.
I am literally pulling my hair out now so if anyone could kindly help me I would be so very grateful!!! Am I missing something?
Many thanks in anticipation..
I have exactly de same probleme ... tryed many drivers and still cannot open port ..... I also tryed the last one
