Please excuse my noob question...
Im building my first APM controlled mapping aircraft and I have some questions on the link.
With regards to link quality and distance in the 900mhz band, does the xbee pro 900hp seem to be the best choice? Or should I stick with the 3dr telemetry?
I also saw that there is a long range diversity modem by rfdesign. Is that worth a look as well?
Thanks,
Matt

I am using XRF from Ciseco, really cheep and works fine for me, APM compatible.
It can be tuned on 6 different frequencies, same modules, you just need to adapt the antenna.
And has encryption feature!
Thanks guys, I actually ended up going with the 433mHz 3DR set. I will be using a 1/2 wave vertical dipole on the air side, and a 1/2 wave whip on the ground. That should give me the range Im after :)
The 3DR are a low cost alternative but don't have the same feature set, encryption being one. Performance wise there is probably little in it.
Also there is the synapse modules see https://solarbotics.com/catalog/wireless/synapse/
