Hi,
I have received the following email from 3DRobotics last night, my Iris quadocopter was already in France, at Fedex office for a delivery at home on monday. 3DRobotics say they cancel my order and will refund me, rhis mean they will ask Fedex to send back to product to the US, why such a decision for all customers ? Why cancelling a shipement when the parcel is nearly at your home ?
Here is the email I have received from 3DR

Thanks for your order with 3DR. We're writing to let you know that, due to a temporary change in our shipping policies, we're unable to ship orders outside of the US and Canada. We'll be cancelling and refunding your order immediately. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll let you know when we can resume shipments to your country.

Yeah, we peasants know nothing. The notice posted by 3DR states that they have "been forced" to "temporarily" stop exports. That word "forced" implies something more major than just business/shipping issues while the "temporarily" would seem to be an indicator in the opposite direction. So we don't know squat. One would think it would be in 3DR's best interest to quickly provide a general explanation of what's happening.
Thats true Rob, but i have my tin foil hat on and everything. Maybe they just cutting a deal for better overseas shipping or opening subsidiaries.

Hopefully I will get my Iris on Monday, there is no information from Fedex the parcel has been called back by 3DR. I think it's no more possible to call it back because the parcel has been processed and cleared by customs regulatory agency at Paris.
It would be great to have an official information from 3DR and / or US governement if there are restrictions for export of such products. This is strange to see nothing about the subject on Google, if there are restrictions, 3DR is not the only company involved...
THEY SHOULD SEND DIRECTLY ON THEIR TIJUANA factory....it s the main reason why pixhawk clone is a good alternative!!!!!!!
if the original producer cannot sell enaught in foreigner country we have another alternative!!!!!it s the main reason i love opensource project!

Are exports stop? Uau cant believe it! 3DR does not have any ITAR products
This really a serious issue for 3DR as many people will not be able to wait and will end ordering elsewhere
