    Know what you are doing if you need a 1W transmitter in you plane/copter. You better make sure there is plenty of separation from the TX and the rest of the equipment, especially receivers. And that the transmitter/antenna oututs a clean signal. This much energy it will knock out any receiver like 2.4ghz radio and GPS regardless of frequency, if they are to close. It could also play havoc with gyros, electronics and sensors, especially the magnetometers.

    In my experience any more then 500mW for a video link, is just more problems then it's worth. So unless you have special needs and know how to deal with the pitfalls, don't install one just because 1000mW is a higher number...
