  • ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) are tools used to help conduct undersea research. They’re operated remotely from the surface or from a submersible and are commonly used in situations when scuba diving is not feasible due to depth and time limitations or when expensive manned submersibles are not cost effective.

  • The problem with UGV's is the ground in Calif* costs $1000 per square foot. It would be a good way to use spare parts, but the air is much cheaper. Most of the animals still alive in Calif* have to fly.
  • Hello guys.

That UVS-INFO link was great, too bad it's in France. But I think we will send them info to list our UGV!

As for the UGV forum, it's up but empty. We would love to have some people come and start posting their thoughts, ideas and projects. We have to start somewhere. We're even considering some sort of "perks" for our first "Charter" forum members?!? We would gladly add links to diydrones.com!

Here's the link to ours: http://reflexxrobotics.com/forum/

We invite everyone to come and help us start a community for the "ground pounders!"

    thanks,

    gene s.
  • Hi Patrick
    thank you for the link
  • hi Reflexx
i have been lurking here a while and working on a UGV as a stepping stone to get my feet wet , before i jump into a UAV project , could you post a link to your UGV forum if you get it up and running , thanks
  • Hello again!

I've got a bit of an update. Our UGV is almost finished and we're hoping to start a UGV forum at our site. Our product is a hybrid robotic vehicle PLATFORM on which anyone can put sensors, cameras, electronics of their own. It's an "open source" project so we invite anyone to join or forums and discuss any aspect of ours or UGVs.

I hope the owners of this forum don't consider this spam. Because we're not really competitors, but much of the knowledge can be shared between the two!
