AAARRRRGH I burnt something out! please help

Not having much luck here. I finally got my arduimu programmed right, but when I plugged back in the power wires after removing the programming cable I had the one pin over to the left.

As soon as I attached the batter to the ardupilot ffzzt!!!  something burnt out on the ardupilot. I don't know my electronics that well, so not sure what the part is or does. But it located near the power selecting solder tabs on the board. It looks like it might be ok to replace. There is another near the GPS plug. I assume its a power regulator??

Can anyone offer assistance ?

  • Here is a picture of the component.
  • Its the C106L component.
  • Yesterday, I ran my airplane motor and the arduPilot started smoking. After inspection I found that the top of the atmega328 chip was melted.
  • If good design and luck is with you, you may just have burned a zener diode. I am sure posting a high res photo will make it easyer for other people to help.
