I have been working through an algorithm for an accurate autolanding system, aimed at roof-top based auto-recharge landing pads. I've put up a spec here:
I can't develop it on my own, so am asking for help. The next step is a hardware implementation of the ultrasound decoding system, which would present data to the Pixhawk through a bus. There would be some additional code in PX4 to essentially takeover from GPS-guided flight.
I think this will enable Matternet, Flying Donkey etc to progress to a pilot-free solution.
