    Well, I have not build any type of frame but I do have experience with the aluminum extrusion that she is selling.  IMHO it is way to heavy, and no I never put it on a scale, I have just used it for projects and none of them were for flying and it would be my last option to make a frame from,,,,,well correct that,  if it were my only option I would not make a frame.

    I don't see why they wouldn't work. They won't work as well as hollow extrusions, simply because they'll be heavier, but they will do the job and would be a very quick way of assembling more unusual (i.e. 'H', 'V', square, rectangular, etc.) frames for testing.

    More suited to prototyping, I'd say.

    No, sorry.  Won't work out well at all.  The metal is in all the wrong places.
