  • Well, I have not build any type of frame but I do have experience with the aluminum extrusion that she is selling.  IMHO it is way to heavy, and no I never put it on a scale, I have just used it for projects and none of them were for flying and it would be my last option to make a frame from,,,,,well correct that,  if it were my only option I would not make a frame.

  • I don't see why they wouldn't work. They won't work as well as hollow extrusions, simply because they'll be heavier, but they will do the job and would be a very quick way of assembling more unusual (i.e. 'H', 'V', square, rectangular, etc.) frames for testing.

    More suited to prototyping, I'd say.
  • No, sorry.  Won't work out well at all.  The metal is in all the wrong places.
