Adjusting Sensitivity

I am fairly new to R/C and have a question regarding a Futaba 8FG.  I flew my hexacopter for the first time this weekend and it was an exhilarating experience.  Is there a way to adjust the sticks to not be so sensitive?  For example I had plenty of acceleration in the throttle and i only had to move the stick about 1/8 of its potential movement.  I would like the same acceleration to be equal to 1/2 of the potential stick movement.  Can I make this adjustment and how do I do this?

Thanks

  • This is adjustable but how you do it will be specific to your 8FG. I do not fly Futaba radios so I won't be able to tell you exactly but it will probably have to do with your channel end point settings and/or your throttle curve. I fly my hex with a normal linear throttle setting (so no actual 'curve' to the settings). Also, just fyi the hexes can have a ton of power so keep that in mind.

So, you may just need to tweak something on your Futaba or you may need to adjust the parameters of your flight controller, the arducopter PIDs/parameters you set with mission planner. Knowing how to properly adjust these can be rather complex (for me at least) so I have had the best luck by searching around for settings that have been tested with other similar hexacopters. If you are interested I can get mine for you but they are specific to my hex setup and may be somewhat different that you will need if your configuration is vastly different than mine.
