Hi I am new to the website and have been reading about the autopilot systems for the last 3 days straight and would like to know if the Adrupilot Mega 1 kit would be for me.
I am flying a F18 EDF Foam Plane with a Spektrum DX8 tx and rx. The plane motor is 70MM ducted fan and will fly at 120MPH level flight and faster. The plane can fly much slower if I choose to.
I am wanting the auto pilot and GPS to allow the plane to fly to predetermined GPS fixes. I want to put FPV on the plane to watch and record the flight. I also want OSD, airspeed indicator, attitude indicator, and flight altitude indicator. From what I have read on the site I should be able to do all of this for around $700.00 to $1000.00 bucks. Any input from those that have done this would be appreciated. Also how hard is this stuff to setup on the laptop to get running?

You're better off with APM 2.5. Cheaper, smaller, better. There's a 10-day wait for the one with the headers already soldered, or you can get one with your choice of headers now.
