Alternate use for 3DR Radio's

I know this isn't directly pertaining to the Drone hobby, but I was wondering if anyone had used the 3DR radio's in place of a standard serial cable? Assuming of course that the remote end would need to be powered by something...

My hobby is RC and I have an APM and 3DR radio's that I use in my fixed wing, but my job is as a Network Technician. Would be great if I could use these as a replacement for a Cisco serial cable.

You need a RS232 conversion

add a MAX3232 PCB to your Radio or buy this:
