Althold, Loiter and Yaw issues

Hi,

Would someone be so kind to have alook at my logs please as I cant seem to iron out the following issues.

I bought a ready made rctimer spider quad with 2.6 off a guy in the uk who makes these as I am not able to build one due to health reasons.

Thr issues I am having are when I take off in stab, loiter or alt hold the quad yaws to the left about 20 degrees.

Once in the air and with little to no wind in stab and loiter its perfect after I have corrected the yaw. If I take the quad out in a 8-12mph wind the quad is unstable in loiter, twitching around and drifting.

The odd time when lowering the throttle in loiter the quad has continued to lower even if the throttle is moved to 50% or full throttle, which has resulted in three very hard bumps. If I re arm all is good again.

I have tried to email the guy but all he says is try this setting or that setting, I am very confused so I am seeking some help.

Spider quad, 4-1 qbrain esc, rctimer 1000kv, 9 x 4.7 props with a 5000mah 3s.

Just to make things worse for me a mate has almost the same setup and it flies like a dream in any conditions.

Sorry forgot to also say that in althold mode the quad will drop height by 10 - 15 meters if I am flying a circuit, when I stop the quad gain height. I have covered the baro with foam and black tape to stop light getting in.

Regards

John

  • No-one have any comments for this problem? I believe my vibration levels are ok. What settings do I need to change to make loiter less twitchy in the wind?
