Someone apparently rigged up a tricopter for a sort of missile defense, augmented reality video game using hydrogen balloons, fireworks, and a slew of tricks with the copter and "final boss".

Not augmented reality. This is the kind of reckless behaviour that gets the lawmakers hunting the honest safe folks down. Could someone put rockets on their plane/heli/quad to shot something? Yes but most on here aren't ignorant enough to do so because it break several laws in multiple countries and endangers the hobby for us all. Even if we had an "experiment" we wouldn't put it on an international forum to show we had done it so Mr Plod could jail us.
Pushing boundaries is about showing we are responsible so laws are slackened because we deserve the trust. Things like this only give the governments of the world more "ammo" to ban stuff.
