AP-- no servo or throttle control

Hello All,I'm finally at the stage of installing and ground testing the AP v1; however, I am having a problem with getting any type of control of the servos or throttle with the AP enabled or not (that is, switched on via CNTRL IN). The code appears to be uploading just fine. The LEDs all indicate proper functionality according to the posted guide. My other servos & receiver are getting power from the current passed through the AP (powering through ESC). I have checked the solder joints and while they aren't pretty, I have tested each line to confirm that +s and -s are not shorted within each other and signal lines don't short on any of the others. I see the same problem when using the Northeast code as well. Should the code work 'out of the box' to allow servo control when AP is disengaged or does it require some customization?Thanks for any advice anyone can give me

    Yes, the code should work out of the box. Are you sure the servos are plugged in the right way (black out)?
