I've got an APM 2.0 that when I plug it into Windows via USB the board powers up but windows does not make its normal noise that indicates something was plugged in. Nothing pops up in device manager. I own a 2nd APM 2.0 and it works fine. Both are on 2.9.1 Sometimes when I plug in the suspect APM The orange tx rx lights blink rapidly, sometimes they don't. I do not presently have the APM in an airframe, but when I plug in a receiver and give an arm command it indicates it arms, so I suppose the thing is working other than USB connectivity. I own an xbee I could try hooking up, but I was hoping there would be an obvious step first. I tried using Arduino to flash new firmware, but Arduino does not show a com port to flash to, so it seems Windows has NO IDEA its plugged in.

turns out there is a physical problem with the micro usb port. not sure what it exactly is yet, but by using a pick and scratching out between the pins on the back of the connector I am now able to connect. I think something is lodged back there causing a short or something. I am hesitant to dig back there too much, I might go to an electroncis repair store and have them replace the whole connector. anyone have experience with that sort of thing?
Curiosity got the best of me and I tried connecting via xbee. What do ya know, it works. APM seems to be fine. Cannot connect via usb still....is this going to leave this APM forever on 2.9.1 (not so bad...)
