APM 2.5+ and older MediaTek GPS?

I'm about to order APM 2.5+ and I'm wondering about the GPS module. Should I take the MediaTek v.20 with the APM or not. I bought APM + GPS some time back in the summer of 2011 from DIYDrones and I still have the GPS. It says MediaTek_v12 on the module. Does that work with APM 2.5+? Is there any reason why I should buy v2.0 instead?

From what i understand you will just have to do a FW update of your gps module with your ftdi adapter. It is described in the wiki.
