Hello I am new to the forum and UAV's in general. My name is Craig and I am currently working on a senior design project at Western New England University in Springfield Massachusetts. The project consists of modifying an Aerosky 550 hexacopter to pickup and deliver various objects to specific locations. The APM 2.5 board with GPS for the Aerosky 550 is needed to allow for autonomous control. I have searched several sites and cannot find any vendors that have this item in stock. I was wondering if anyone knew where to purchase one of these or if another system is comparable and around the same price. Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you- Craig

I just bought the complete kit
It is made for the Aerosky 550 or will work on any other craft.Aerosky has a clone of the APM2.5.GPS,compass and the works.
$150.
Got mine at www.hobbypartz.com
It looks like 3DR has inventory -- their APM 2.6 set is here and the Pixhawk should offer a suitable alternative.
Cheers!
Thank you for the quick response Crady. Both of these systems seem to be a good alternative but their just a bit too pricey. I found the same board I was originally looking for but it says it for the Aerosky quadcopter rather than the hexacopter. If I ordered this board what would be the difference from the original one I wanted.

Hello all,
I'm still working on this project and am having trouble getting the aerosky 550 in the air. I have uploaded the Multiwii code onto the board, I've bound my fs-th9x with the recievier, but I can't unlock the motors and have yet to see any rotors actually spin. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to hear you're having troubles, Craig.
I know absolutely nothing about Multiwii but maybe these links can get you started:
