As you can see, motor 1 (bottom left) isn't arming.

 

It seems that the motor output isn't actually working. When I connect it to other escs, the same problem occurs. It sometimes manages to arm the esc, as seen at the beginning of the video, but when it does the motor output is glitchy and never actually revs properly. 

 

Is this software or hardware?

 

Edit: 

This may be a hardware problem as the issue persists when i change it to a quad configuration. The motor still doesn't arm :(

    My guess is that the ESC is faulty or needs to be calibrated.
