APM 2.6 with external GPS

i recently got a ublox 3dr gps module for apm 2.6 with external GPS but i notoiced that on the GPS module there is a fixed RED light but no blue light fixed or blinking. Could this be a wiring problem? I read on some comments on other similar threads that the blue light in the gps module should also blink while looking for sats.

    the blue light is off until it acquires a lock and then flashes.

    @Pierre,

    When you say "no GPS connection" do you mean you do not have the cable attached from the GPS pwb connector to the APM GPS connector, or that the GPS is not receiving satellites? If you are indoors it can take a while for the GPS to obtain a 2D or 3D lock. You might want to go into the Terminal Mode and use the CLI to determine if the AMP is communicating with the GPS.

    @Pierre,

    If you have a uBlox LEA-6 GPS then the red led is the power led and the blue led, when it starts to blink at a 1Hz rate, indicates a 2D or 3D lock. The blue led never is full on.

    If you have a MediaTek V2, then the blue led starts out flashing and then goes solid blue when the GPS has obtained a 2D or 3D lock.
