I have a couple of https://www.sparkfun.com/tutorials/176 am trying to add one as an external GPS to an APM 2 board and my board will not see it.
The GPS powers up ok and gets a fix, based on LED flashing.
What have I not done? I have disabled the onboard thus https://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/GPSDisable

try to make RX -TX crosswise. Maybe it helps.
