apm and mission planner don't see rc controls

Hello All

I am new to the world of quad copters and the apm system, I am having a problem getting my apm and mission planner to see any of the rc controls. Am I not setting something up correctly or what. I am using the turnigy 9x transmitter and receiver

    Hi shaw,

    Did you follow the guidelines describe in the documentation (http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/connecting-your-rc-input-and-motors/) ?

    Are you sure that the mission planner is the problem or is it the connection between your receiver and your apm ?

    When you use your Tx, does your copter react ?

    Could you send us a picture of the connections between your apm and your receiver to better understand your problem.
