I am trying to connect to the APM via USB. When I open the terminal, I get the following:Init ArduPilotMega 2.2.1Free RAM: 3077load_all took 2524ususing 2485 bytes of memoryMSG: reset_control_switch0U J0U !U&%????U ]?,U ?UJUU U t0U?"U ?,U ?U J?44U *U @U RThe jibberish repeats...There are "Error reading com port" messsages thrown in sporadically. I purchased this from someone who had ArduCopter software loaded, but I reloaded the APM XPlane firmware when first connecting.

You don't have the slider switch in CLI mode. If you don't read the manual, you'll find using any autopilot very frustrating. Take a minute and follow the instructions: http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/home?tm=6
