Hello to you all, I hope you can help as I have encountered an odd problem (to me), I have install the APM in my easy star, when I started checking that the control surfaces were all acting correctly (stabilisation mode), i.e.: nose down elevator up etc. I found the controls surfaces were reversed; I have changed the dip switches (both the centre switches to the up position). Roll and mixing had not been changed, both left in the lower position.
It was at this point I noticed that the rudder and the elevator were moving in an odd manner. If I pitch the nose down then the rudder will start to move in one direction along with the elevator raising. If I pitch the nose up the elevator will then start dropping down and the rudder will move in the opposite direction to that of when the nose is dropped.
The roll and mixing dipswitches, which were left alone at the beginning of the evening, have been changed to the upper position over the time I have been testing this evening; they make no difference to the odd acting control surfaces! One thing I have seen, or not as the case maybe is any change to the servos when the mixing dipswitch is changed from upper to lower or lower to upper position, is this correct?
It feels as if there is some form of mixing going on?
Things I have checked and then rechecked:
IMU in test operation, when placed flat on the table after calibration all readings are zero, move the APM in any direction (up, down, roll left or right) you can see the values change from zero to positive or minus numbers, the same happens when pitching up and down, when the APM is tilted at an angle so it is pointing down / up with a rolling movement the figures all seem to match what is happening. The yaw pitch and roll can all be seen to do their own thing or work with one another when in testing.
All test programs have been run and all results are in keeping with what is expected.
The RC receiver has been connected to APM with the:
BEC / throttle on MUX IN2, the rudder and elevator connected to the MUX IN 0 and 1 & IN7 to channel 7 for AMP activation. (No ailerons on easy star)
The MUX out to servos and ESC have been set to the correct positions, 0,1 & 2.
I have full control of all control surfaces when using my Futarba 7C in both manual and stable modes with correct movement.
I have noticed the ESC getting very warm when the AMP is connected, and the motor is not being used, is this normal or could this point to an issue somewhere?
Thank you for your time in advance
Regards
Martin.

I would check your soldering. Are you sure you haven't accidentally made a solder bridge on the APM board between the Out 0 and Out 1 signal pins?
