When using the Mission Planner to upload firmware to the APM, does it download the most recent update, or just the last major version.

I notice that changes are made almost every day, and was wondering if I uploaded from the Mission Planner if these changes are in the firmware Uploaded to the APM?

Next when uploading firmware, using the MP, does the CLI switch need to be moved away from flying mode.
