Hello to everybody,
One of the most challenging things for drones constructors to overcome is to prove the reliability of the autopilot system used.
I was wondering If any quantitative reliability assessment at least for Hardware components has been done inside the community (Software would be really a diffcult task).
A good point to start could be the component list of APM 2.6 (easily exportable from APM 2.6 Eagle file) and the application of the standard MIL-HDBK-217F for hardware components. The most difficult thing would be to get the failure rates (FIT, MTBF) of the (consumer grade) electronics components mounted on the board.
If anybody has done any reliability assessment on APM /Pixhawk I would be happy to share experience on this topic.
thank you all.
Alberto
