APM HELP

I am using APM 2.8 with S500 frame kit, Multistar 2216 800kV, Turnigy Plush 25A ESC, Frsky Fsi6a TX, RX

The motors run ok when connecting everything to mission planner for testing. But when USB is unplugged, the whole setup does not respond anymore, throttle can not run the motors at all.

Note: i am powering APM via ESC connecting cable, ESCs have been manually calibrated with receiver.

Please tell me where has/have gone wrong. I will be deeply thankful
