APM IMU issue

Hi all!

I've got some issues with my IMU. I've searched the forum and tried the tips other have received, however the problem remains.

PROBLEM:

IMU X and Y axis show drift on their own without moving the board, Z axis is fine. Sometimes they don't drift, but react very slowly. If i tilt the board 90 degrees, the imu senses it and slowly the output works itself towards the actual orientation.

The "fun" part is that sometimes it works..

Attempted fixes:

Checked all solders with multimeter - Good connection (However I'm no soldering master..)

Reset the APM from setup menu

Powered it with only USB, and tried with USB and 5V from servo cables powered by a BEC (measured at 5V)

I've attached some pictures. If you see anything wrong please give me a heads up as I'm really looking forward to flying.

Regards,

Carl

  • Hi! Same problem here! any improvements on how to solve it?

  • I have this same problem, but without the drift. It seems my Gyros are "sluggish" or outputting data at a very slow rate. I have checked my solder joints as well. I'll have to post some logs of the gyro outputs. Might be helpful...
