This arducopter came second hand with a wing I bought. When I was initially figuring it out I had it powered on with both the USB and battery which I eventually learned was a no no. It became unresponsive, and the computer wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. I had left if for dead and then decided to plug it in again, and was able to install the latest firmware (Arduplane 3.2.1). Great! But I haven't been able to get it to connect via Mavlink through USB. Mission Planner recognizes it as COM7 Arduino Mega 2560 in the connection drop down list in the top right. When I try to connect it always times out. When I try and connect through the terminal I get the following message:
Opened Com Port
Init Arduplane V3.2.1 (54ca5b2f)
Free Ram: 2146
load_aBMP085: bad calibration registers
I'm not sure what to look at next to figure this out.

I've been looking around some more and I am curious if the problem is because I don't have the output side of the Arducopter powered? Apparently the output side needs to have power, but I haven't found what this depends on. Do I need it for the USB connection? The ABC lights aren't lighting up at all right now, just the Power and Serial lights.
