ArduCopter-3.2.1 Beta Testing

ArduCopter 3.2.1-rc2 (release candidate #2) has completed beta testing and has been released as the official version available through the mission planner and other ground stations.

Changes from AC3.2 are listed below and in the ReleaseNotes:
1) Enhancements:
    a) reduced twitch when passing Spline waypoints
    b) Faster disarm after landing in Auto, Land, RTL
    c) Pixhawk LED turns green before arming only after GPS HDOP falls below 2.3 (only in flight modes requiring GPS)
2) Safety Features:
    a) Add desired descent rate check to reduce chance of false-positive on landing check
    b) improved MPU6k health monitoring and re-configuration in case of in-flight failure
    c) Rally point distance check reduced to 300m (reduces chance of RTL to far away forgotten Rally point)
    d) auto-disarm if vehicle is landed for 15seconds even in Auto, Guided, RTL, Circle
    e) fence breach while vehicle is landed causes vehicle to disarm (previously did RTL)
3) Bug Fixes:
    a) Check flight mode even when arming from GCS (previously it was possible to arm in RTL mode if arming was initiated from GCS)
    b) Send vehicle target destination in RTL, Guided (allows GCS to show where vehicle is flying to in these modes)
    c) PosHold wind compensation fix
    d) prevent infinite loop with do-jump commands pointing at each other
    e) pixhawk memory corruption fix when connecting via USB
    f) vehicle stops at fence's alt limit in Loiter, AltHold, PosHold (as it did in AC3.1.5)
    g) protect against multiple arming messages from GCS causing gyro calibratoin failure

Thanks to Raph for the video.  This is actually a video from AC3.2 until we have one specific to AC3.2.1.

      • FWIW my experience is that precise compass calibration far away from metal objects is critical to stable behaviour. Most of my problems have gone away simply by calibrating outside (although its still remarkably difficult to do this in the UK - its amazing how much steel there is in and around the average UK house).

So it won't technically be an "EKF error" but rather a "DCM error".  The little tag that appears in the graph of the log is put there by the mission planner so it may be applying a slightly incorrect label.  In either case it's basically the same thing - it means the heading is off possibly due to interference on the compass.

very nice.  I think I'm feeling slightly ill after all those turns!

    • If you watch closely, in some of your maneuvers you can see the arms vibrating rather violently which in my experience is inherent to those type of arms. Perhaps this is also the source of your EKF errors.

    • Did you do a compass mot? Just curious I had to re-do my compass mot to get rid of DCM errors. Only throttling up 1/2 way while doing the motor calibration fixed it entirely. Not sure if your EKF error is related just thought I'd mention it.

    • Try Pos hold for FPV, more impressive ;)

  • I want to learn when will available mavlink to frsky s port native support via spc(smart port converter) and ful 1 cable witout teensy?

I have tried official 3.2.1 but does not worked as mentioned link above.

    But this custom fw http://www.adrive.com/public/h3TuJH/PixHawk_3.2.0.zip

Worked but ıt ıs for quad not y6 i have
  • Did some more FLIP mode testing in 3.2.1, so far all modes have worked great, There was one part where I did not flip and it was pointing straight down, recovered real well, prob getting to aggressive :-D
