Arducopter Gimbal interface

Hi all, I have just "UPGRADED" all my multies from the Dji A2 to the Pixhawk. 

What a difference, Arducopter rules the sky.

I am having trouble finding info on gimbal capabilities with Arducopter. I note there is options to set the serial to Alex Moss or Storm. i have several gimbals and use both boards. 

I read hear and there about tracking and so on but I am failing to find any info or documentation on the capabilities over the gimbal control. Also I am using ppm in from the Rx which gives me 8 channels, I use Flight mode, RTH and AUX for landing gear leaving me with just one Ch left.

I have just ordered a S-Bus Rx to see if this gives me more Ch for the 3 axes. Or is it possible to have the ppm expanded over 8 channels?

Any pointers to a Wiki or advice would be MUCH appreciated.
