Arducopter manual throttle control when using GPS hold

When I enable the GPS hold on my arducopter, if I try to ascend or descend using the throttle stick, the copter does not respond. I can manuever the copter like always, but the throttle stick has no command when GPS hold is on. In the wiki, it says we should be able to control this. Is this a bug?

It shouldn't be a bug...at least not one that affects everyone.  The throttle should cause the quad to ascend or descend (and it was working for me a couple of days ago).

Presumably though it is maintaining it's altitude ok?  (i.e. within a couple of meters is normal).

Now there is a fairly large "deadzone" in the throttle response when in GPS hold.  so to go up you'll need to hold it up for some time and it should go up.  same for going down.  when you're in GPS hold mode, throttle response is much less than when in regular stable mode.
