Arducopter or Bixler for cloud photography and video?

What is the project in my mind? To take some cloud pictures or video, inside or above the clouds.

But there are many things to consider. First of all should I use a plane (bixler) with a GoPro or an arducopter with a GoPro? What is the max altitude I could get with each of them? It seems more possible with a plane. Then should I use remote control or an autopilot? I mean how to control a plane or an arducopter if you can not see it (above or inside clouds)? And finally I should find some low altitude clouds by visiting a nearby mountain.

I seems possible (to me) :)

Any suggestions?

You want to take pictures inside a cloud?  Take a closeup of a white piece of paper - LOL.  There is not much to see.  Taking pictures above clouds is a different story.  If you want to be above the clouds you will either need an FPV setup or an autopilot.

Bixler hands down. Quads are best for low, nearby stuff that's mostly stationary (like a camera boom in the air). Anything that requires any height or distance is best done by a plane.
