Arducopter receiver

I am trying to use my DX6 and AR6000 receiver which use DSM and am asking if this transmitter and receiver will work with the Arducopter?
If so, I will go back to trying to get it to acknowledge it.
The green light on the oilpan stays on steady and doesn't blink slow or fast when I initialize the motors.
They do start and sort of follow my throttle commands but then they drift off.

    Yes, ArduCopter will work with any RC system.

    Please load the ArduPilot Mega code and run through the RC test debug mode to ensure that you've got everything hooked up right. If you don't get good results, you may need to update your PPM processor firmware.

    The ArduCopter code is not ready to beta testing, so please stay tuned for that. The code in the SVN at the moment is likely to crash your quad.
