To start recording the APM accelerometer data the current Arducopter online reference manual says we should type "enable ins" (used to be "enable raw"). It's in the Vibration Damping section. That doesn't seem to enable anything that I can see.

Shouldn't the reference say "enable imu"?

  • I just tested this out and it should indeed be "enable imu", NOT enable ins or enable raw.  As a developer, I have to tell you that it's pretty shitty for them to put out bad documentation. No documentation would be better than wrong documentation. I actually had a bit of a heated conversation with a friend as I'm trying to defend this open source flight controller over something that say DJI might make, and sure enough, here we are with half ass documentation telling us that's just wrong. "enable ins" does not do shit. Whoever wrote that should get cold clocked right in the back of the noggin. I wasted a good bit of time trying to figure that out.

  • I have the same issue.  Doesn't seem to change anything; not seeing anything extra in the logs.
