Arducopter v2.6 Accelerometer Error(?)

I have an Arducopter v2.6 on my quadcopter and am just starting to get it flying. Yesterday I took it to the park for the second time for some test flights. The flight went as follows:

  • Take off
  • Climb to about 3 feet
  • Hover for a few seconds
  • Climb to about 5 feet
  • Hover for a few seconds
  • Quad starts shaking badly
  • 2 motors turn off and quad falls to the ground

I have attached my dataflash log. Looking at it I notice a few things but I don't have much experience with this.

  • I unintentionally had the quad in altitude hold mode rather than stabilize
  • The quad seems to be incorrectly recognizing roll starting around line 4818

Why might this have happened? It seems the accelerometer just went haywire. After the crash I paired it with ground station and everything checked out.
