Arduino IDE, help for new user please?

I am just trying to use the Arduino IDE for the first time, so that I will be able to compile and load Arducopter software with changes as required.

I have followed the getting started instructions and successfully loaded the first example application, which is Blink. It is supposed to flash the yellow LED on the processor board.

It compiles OK, and it appears to upload OK. The IMU TX/RX lights twinkle for a couple of seconds and the IDE says download complete. But the yellow LED doesn't flash.

I have tried resetting the board with the IMU button immedediately before upload - no difference.

I'm probably doing something stupid, can anyone help please?

    Rob, all those standard Arduino tutorials are for the standard Arduino dev boards. APM is a custom board and all the I/O is custom and different; there is no yellow LED on that pin, for example. You can run any Arduino sketch that doesn't require any output (other than serial), but others won't work. This is not the board to use to learn basic Arduino!
