Does anyone happen to know what pin 40 and pin 41 are used for (especially in the case of ArduCopter)?

They are labeled PG0 and PG1.

I actually had some trouble when soldering these two pins and I am conscerned that I may have damaged these two.

If they are only for read/write on external memory that shouldn't be a big deal. I just didn't want to get it in the air and have problems at 200+ feet when there is nothing to do but watch it crash.
Any idea what exactly is meant by external memory? Would that be add-on/expansion memory?

According to this: page 40 and 41 should be read and write to external memory which im taking as the dataflash logger
