Hey guys,we tried uploading the ardupilot program to the ardupilot board and encountered the following error.avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51.Can somebody help us up on how to solve the error? We tried all of the methods given in the troubleshooting guide like checking the RTS setting of the COM port, changing the FTDi cable,FTDi drivers etc. We would be really thankful if somebody could help us out in finding out exactly what the problem is and how to fix it.

Hey cooper, try checking the power output from ur esc. It should b 5 volts. If it is higher or lower than this value, u'll b gettng error msgs. Also, i'm nt sure whether the ftdi drivers r compatible with vista. Try from a pc running on xp 32 bit.

but you have restarted the computer arfter installing the drivers?
Also set the port No. in Arduino?
And board Type?
Compiled the code?
check in Device Manager to see that your FTDI is showing as a com port.
Applied power to the AP (5v cells or ESC)
As it sounds like teh Arduino has found 'Nothing' there for check all of teh above, expsecially that the AP is powering up.
Also the orientation of the FTDI!
Hope this helps.

Mike.
