ardupilot setup help

i built a quadracopter with the Ardupilot 2.6, i don't have a RC controller so i want to use a joystick connected to the computer instead, i have the telemetry link working, but during the compass calibration (the XYZ access thing) it goes good for all of 5 seconds, then all the points vanish and position tracking ends, on the flight data screen it says bad compass health, on the Ardupilot the blue light is solid but the red light keeps flashing twice, all the ESC's are connected properly but after they prime they keep beeping, and during the joystick set up all the values default at their lowest and don't go to the middle the joystick is a Logitech extreme3D pro, when i go to test the motors it says "command was denied by autopilot" i can not arm the Ardupilot, the radio link set up works but says its not set up when i try to arm the Ardupilot.
