ArduPlane 2.31 released

I've just released ArduPlane 2.31

This is a bug fix release, primarily for the barometer bug that Randy spotted. The only other change is a much improved automatic compass calibration system based on a paper by Bill Premerlani.

I wasn't planning on doing a new release so soon after the last one, but the severity of the barometer bug was enough to warrant a quick release.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback!

Cheers, Tridge

  • I updated to 2.31 today and now compass drifts all over the palce, and when I move it 10 degrees it rotates almost a full turn. Also my altitude drifts from 2 feet to 5 feet over time. Both of these were rock solid (compass drift 2-3 degrees and altitude never above 2ft height) with 2.30 and 2.28.

The problem is that I cannot revert back to 2.30 because Arduino environment won't upload the firmware to APM2 properly (I need to try another PC).  I also upgraded to the latest Mission Planner and no way to revet back.  I could swap out the "firmware.hex" file in mission planner to a lower version, but none are posted and I didn;t save the older versions. Now I am stuck and can't compare 2.31 to 2.30.

Can someone post or send me a 2.30 firmware.hex file?  Also, can I just swap the current 2.31 firmware.hex out with that in Mission Planner as long as I do not do an internet update?

Setup:  APM2.0, no GPS lock (indoors), all sensors hooked up (air speed, current, X-bee). I moved all magnetic/inductive items away, like cell phone, X-bee. My laptop is about 1-2 feet away, wonder if that's an issue. It did not affect it before....
