Arduplane 2.50 and old APM1.0 board ?

Hello everyone,

Maybe its silly question, but as im just starting with Arduplane i would like to ask to be sure. Better ask than crash ;)

I do have old version of APM, with 1280 processor, and of course IMU shield (oilpan). Does newest version of Arduplane support fully such old hardware setup ? I do mean - should i expect some strange behavior or limited performance because using old hardware with less powerful components comparing to new APM2 ?

What extra sensors i do need ? For sure i need to buy GPS unit, do i need also Magneto, Airspeed sensor or something else ? If extra sensors are not "a must have", would you still advise to buy them because, for example, much better autopilot performance ?

Arduplane will fly in FPV flying wing.

ArduCopter doesn't fit on the 1280 anymore but I believe ArduPlane does.  So I think you'll be ok.

The big difference between the APM1 and APM2 is the barometer and the APM2 uses the MPU6000 for it's accelerometer and gyro.  Really it's the improved barometer that's the big improvement in APM2 (and the expanded flash space of the 2560 over the 1280 so we can put more software on it).  The speed of the processor on the two is the same.
