Hello, I am working with the ArduPlane Electronic Device, and a few months ago we fly the airplane with no problems, but aprox a week ago we made another fly to prove the stabilization with the autopilot, and when we fly the airplane, it change mode unexpectedly to RTL, but we do not configure that mode for our system, we onely configure manual, Fly by Wire and Stabilize modes, and for fail save we put the Fly by Wire mode, and when we saw the telemetry we saw that the system reboots many times, like 4 times on the ground (before we fly the airplane). We do not have BEC and we think that it can be the problem, but we made tests on ground and we saw that the system do not reboot unexpectedly any more (we put to work the engine to prove that the problem was the BEC). We saw too that when we had the airplane on, it swithc unexpectedly to RTL. What are the possible problems?

Hi, I believe there is a software bug in Ardupilot 2.4. I have experienced similar problems using APM1 and APM2 boards.
When setting up my new APM2 in mission planner in the Flight Mode Control screen all modes positions were set to "manual" and the PWM readout was steady. The a few seconds later the status readout changed to "RTL" Then when switch position TX was changed the status went back to "Manual" and then changed to "Circle" another switch of TX made a return to "Manual"
The flight modes changes were not coming from the receiver as a CRO on channel was a steady value. In a 30 minute flight in my X8 the data log showed numerous changes in modes not coming from the transmitter.

Hello,
I bought a Autopilot APM 2 3 weeks ago and I experienced exactly the same issue. So for the time being I don't want to install it in my plane...
I don't know what's happens. I setted only FBWA mode and from time to time the device change mode to RTL or Auto and reboot also. I'm going to work this week in order to understand the reasons.
As soon I have information or solution I'll let you know. If you have found something please let me know.
Kind regards
Bernard
