Looks like you had a dead battery to be honest. They motors did what they were supposed to do, sense the high PWM commands and reduce them automatically (thanks again Tridge) prevent a violent flip. This looks like a goofy wobble on the way down but it prevents the quad landing in a way that breaks a motor or APM board.
