hi guysI'm launching a x8 off a strong catapult and am having trouble with the throttle delay and MINACC parameters. I have done about 10 launches in auto mode without the prop on and have been monitoring when the motor spools up. It is usually way too late and the x8 has already glided down to the ground. Do I need to change MINACC down to 2/3 and the. Play around with throttle delay or keep MINACC at 5 and disable the throttle delay (Tkf_thrt_delay)completely. I do not have the depth on the catapult trolley to start the motor prior to launch, I want the throttle to kick in just as it is clear of the catapult. Can anyone help me with some ideas or a good starting point as it just seems to be getting worse and worseThanks in advance.X8 5kg mtow710kv scorpion20000mah14x8 folding prop

I am not using a buggy launch but a catapult - the settings are completely different and takes some playing around with . Bungee launch is nice if you have the space and time to setup
We make powerful catapults for the X8 and other aircraft, The problem you have is time.
The motor takes at least 1.5-2 seconds to reach full speed and power from the application of full throttle, our catapults make the trip from start to finish in about 0-9 seconds and so your motor will only kick in after the X8 has left the launcher ? by the time the motor is producing useful power you have landed.
We make this work by building the cradle so the propeller can run during the launch, we launch in stabilise and run the motor to about 60% throttle so the aircraft does not move then hit the catapult trigger and full throttle at the same time. it takes a little practice but gives great launches. When you are at a safe height switch to auto.
Thanks for that, I do not want to have to use any power before the launch (And have seen it on a number of systems) - the catapult launch without power is pushing the X8 to about 11m or 4-5 seconds so I am hopeful that with the right timing, we can get the motor to kick in right at the end of the rail and there will be sufficient time to get to full power.
I have seen your catapults and they look great but on this occasion we already have a catapult so I am trying to see what we can do to get this one working without having to use any power during the launch - appreciate any help you can offer in terms of params and settings

This could be dangerous if you ever fly in wind, you could easily see a 4m/s or greater headwind while the aircraft is stationary.
Thanks Jacko
