Autonomous Flight parameter checklist

Since where on the subject of autonomous flight. Here is my check list.

#1. Make really sure the rth works every time. (try this out with different angles and directions). Once I am secure that rth works and lands in the same spot with the same results, go to step-

#2. Hold the left stick for 15 secs and engage autotune on a very calm day. Test rth again.

#3. try doing a take off with auto take off then do 3691288742?profile=originala rth many times.

#4 run this small test on the flight plan. (Waypoint 1 is manual take off, Waypoint 2 is loiter for 12 secs, Waypoint 3 is rth. Can one of you look over this plan and see I have made any errors. Of course all the steps will be done in the order I listed. I set the default alt to 15 I dont know if this in meters or feet.  Can some who knows about this verify I have my settings correct before I do a an initial test?

  • Thanks I like to design things so I took on the drone industry.

I want to add a buzzer to my setup. I see on you tube it says to put it in channel 5.  I did this and the buzzer kept going off as if it was in low battery mode.  How do I change it so it sees the lipo and reads the voltage?  I think I read somewhere to not connect the USB and the lipo at the same time.  I could be wrong.  I did not see the arming option in my mission planner.  I am using version 1.3.37 build.  Oh one other thing do most people leave the slow rotation arming of the props for safety reasons or do they disarm this?  On my radio I just setup a countdown timer with voice to know how long each 3s flies.

  • It must of been the design then because lastnight after I programmed my taranis and the ardrucopter I was able to loiter then I would drift out a ways, and rth dead on with in inches each time.  I ran three packs through my tests.   It may have been premature, but it did work.  I agree with you on the consistency of making sure everything is completely working within all parameters before trying something unmanned if even for a second.  That is why I laid out my plan.  Did you get a chance to view the flight I would like to try out?  I still don't know if the altitude is in meters or feet.  Is 15 a good place to start out at?

In Texas our winds are very unstable  If I get another calm night I plan to film it this time.

3702627154?profile=originalI swapped out the receiver from this picture for the x8r with telemetry.  This is the design that flew almost perfect last night.

    It is shown folded up.
