Autonomous UAV without RC Transmitter

Hello,

I am working on a UAV using Ardupilot Mega 2.6. I would like to know if I can fly the UAV fully autonomous without using an RC Transmitter. If yes, can you please give me a hint on how to start? If not, can a Joystick replace the transmitter and how can I install it using the 3RD radio?

Yes, could you fly using a joystick.

In 3DR support pages, has a lot information regarding this questions.
