I'm building a fixed wing UAV with a 2.6 m wingspan and a fairly large fuselage bay. The electric motor is in the back (pusher style), and it's driven by a 6s 10000mAh LiPo battery and a 60A ESC. I'd like to be able to put the battery in an adjustable position forward of the wing to aid with the CG, but I worry about the 30 or so centimeter distance between the battery and the motor, as the current flowing through the power wires could potentially interfere with the mag compass if it's anywhere near there. Am I overthinking this? If not, are there ways to transmit the current across that distance with reduced magnetic field at distance? Twisted wires should help, but I'm not sure whether it's sufficient. How about passing the current through both sides of a 4-inch wide double-cladded circuit board (one side per direction)?
