It does monitor the voltage. But the voltage drop is not linear and almost flat for mid part of energy expenditure for a lipo. The battery % is calculated correctly if you plug in a fully charged battery and have the mAh param set correctly.
Otherwist the only indicator is low voltage and don't fly less than 3.5 volts per cell
hi Bill and Gary, i was flying in my backyard for about 3 mins and i had a full charge batt in, so i heard car honking in front so i turned off and unplugged the lipo at 74%, handled the visitor and plugged back in, it read 100% full charge batt.
ive tried doing this again and i get same results. so i conclude that i should not power cycle during an outing. i should just replace and recharge otherwise im probably going to drain batt well beyond 3.5v??
p.s. im using zippy 5000mah 3s. ive changed that in the paramaters.
As i said, it can measure voltage. You will always know when it drops below the warning level you set. What isn't acurate is power drained, i.e how many amps have been consumed over time. With a fresh battery the calculation is approximae. But a if you power cycle the battery is will get messed up. The dfault behvaiour will reset to 100%

thank you
Also if you say its not correct, have you entered the correct value for the size of battery you are using?? It can't detect battery size.
